As featured in the Gettysburg Times and other publications. Step back in time at the Langdon Hill House, a stunning Bed and Breakfast built in 1816 by Thomas McKelip and lovingly restored over the last 2 years.
Nestled atop Baltimore Hill, this house became a strategic vantage point during the battle of Gettysburg. The picture to the left is a view of the house that Lincoln passed on the way to his Gettysburg address in 1863.
This historic gem is steeped in captivating stories, with Confederate Lieutenant General Richard S Ewell standing just behind it, watching the fierce battle unfold on East Cemetery Hill. Imagine the soldiers who surrounded and occupied this very house, including the Hays Brigade, the infamous Louisiana Tigers. Evidence of sharpshooters in the attic, make that room even more in demand.
The house was inevitably used for medical care after the battle with evidence of the wounded still visible.
Traces of history were found in the attic eaves. Remaining Confederate bullets stand as silent evidence to the house's wartime occupation. During our extensive restoration, additional fascinating artifacts were uncovered, each one revealing more about the house's remarkable past.
Come stay with us, and let the rich history of Langdon Hill House envelop you-it's an experience you won't soon forget.

This room, the smallest at approximately 228 sq ft, offers views of the side yard and garden.
The McKelip Room, situated on the 2nd floor, is named after the original builder, Thomas McKelip, who constructed the house in 1816 to care for his orphaned siblings. This spacious room spans 296 sq ft and features a large bathroom, overlooking the side yard and garden.
